The Santa Paula Unified School District is proud to share some of the many wonderful and exciting learning opportunities happening throughout the district for our students. We have been diligently working on providing technology access of one laptop or iPad to every student in the district. We have completed approximately 75 percent of our goal. The many students who have access to a laptop or iPad are quickly learning how to appropriately use the technology and are taking advantage of the abundance of information available to assist them academically.
Santa Paula High School offers eight specialized career pathways to help prepare students for the working world. Students can take courses in Agricultural Science, Agricultural Business, Engineering and Architecture, Robotics Technology, Health and Human Services, Design, Visual & Media Arts, Public safety, and Patient Care. Renaissance High School also offers career pathways in Design, Visual & Media Arts, Business and Finance, Information and Communication Technologies, and is home to the award-winning Future Business Leaders of America student organization.
Santa Paula Unified is proud to partner with Ventura College to offer Dual Enrollment Classes and with UC Santa Barbara to offer the Early Academic Outreach Program. Santa Paula High School and Isbell Middle School each have full-time UCSB Outreach Coordinators to provide students and parents with information on the University of California A-G requirements, financial aid, the college application process, and getting ready for college. Parent information workshops are also offered throughout the school year.
In partnership with Ventura College, students can take community college courses during the school day and after school on the SPHS campus. This year, Ventura College instructors are co-teaching with SPHS staff second semester in our Sports Medicine, Criminal Justice, Agricultural Sales and Marketing, and Honors Agricultural Business classes. Students enrolled in these classes will receive high school and college credit.
After school STEAM enrichment classes are offered at all six elementary schools and at Isbell Middle School. STAR Education provides students the opportunity to experience science, technology, art, engineering, and mathematics in a project-based environment.
Santa Paula Unified offers an award-winning music program. Students have access to music education beginning at the Transitional Kindergarten level, and can join band starting in grade four. Santa Paula High School offers 44 competitive athletic teams, many of which have risen to the top of the league to secure the championship title.
